Tell me more ... The City of Peoria is seeking an experienced budget professional to lead the day-to-day operations of the Budget Office. This is an opportunity to work in a large and dynamic city with a reputation for excellence in financial management, as evidenced by our Triple-A bond rating, Council-adopted financial policies, and longstanding recognition for our budget documents. The Budget Manager plays an important role in the City's financial decision making and interacts regularly with department directors, the executive team, and the City Council.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • A working knowledge of government finance and budgeting.
  • Experience leading and supervising professional employees.
  • Advanced analytical skills and familiarity with information systems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others and present complex financial information.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in public administration or related field.
  • Experience: Five years of professional work experience in a related field.
