Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for producing digital printing plates to be utilized in the pressroom. Job duties will be conducted in Marceline, Missouri manufacturing facility applicable expectations for dress, conduct, etc. Job duties will be performed on 2nd or 3rd shift and may require overtime in addition to the standard 40-hour work week.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Produce digital plates using Kodak Trendsetter digital plating machines.
  • Become proficient within the Kodak Prinergy workflow.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Print, read, and understand prepress and press departments policies, procedures and job tickets.
  • Learn correct printing plate punching, bending, and handling procedures.
  • Maintain clear and consistent records.
  • Perform quality checks and log results to ensure consistency.
  • Organize all plates for easy orderly delivery to press department.
  • Log work through the AS 400 computer system.
  • Requires basic trouble shooting skills.
  • Communicate with incoming shift all workload related issues as to assure smooth shift transition and minimal down time.
  • Relate all mechanical, computer, or workflow problems through CTP Support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A high School diploma or equivalent.
  • With two (2) or more years of relevant work experience OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of applicable work experience.
  • Knowledge of AS400 is a plus.
  • Ability to use basic math and measuring skills.
  • Able to translate previous work experience into very good problem-solving skills and appropriately apply proven solutions.
  • Ability to organize tasks and ensure timely completion of assigned work.
  • Able to read and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Communicate effective and professionally (both verbally and in writing) with others inside and outside the organization.
  • Requires a very high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Standing on a regular basis for a minimum of 8 hours per shift.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekend schedules.
  • Working with chemicals.
