Department Overview:

The Philanthropy Development team's mission is to recognize and expand the generosity of our donors, connecting them to the transformative power of MDA's mission. We do this by building meaningful relationships, providing exceptional experiences, and matching our donors' interests with MDA's needs. The mission of the Corporate Philanthropy business unit is to grow and expand corporate support of MDA in all sectors including healthcare, financial services, commerce, hospitality, sports, and others. As part of a team of high-performing relationship experts, each member of the Corporate Philanthropy team is responsible for leveraging knowledge in relationship building, fundraising, sales, and marketing to drive revenue growth to support MDA's mission and impact.

Position Description:

The Senior Director, Corporate Philanthropy drives strategy and execution for corporate partnership development and account management, including the pursuit of new partners, implementation of corporate philanthropy programs, and managing and cultivating relations. The Senior Director, Corporate Philanthropy drives account engagement to achieve MDA mission priorities and significant revenue targets of $1M+. The Senior Director, Corporate Philanthropy reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Philanthropy.

What you'll do:

  • Develop a solid pipeline of corporate partners through effective prospect research and reengagement of past corporate partners.
  • Drive comprehensive corporate partnerships through employee & executive engagement, corporate grants, nationwide consumer engagement opportunities & cause marketing opportunities, corporate sponsorship, and mission funding opportunities.
  • Achieve established annual revenue goals, meeting key performance indicators throughout the sales cycle.
  • Continually assesses external factors (messaging, marketplace, competition, etc.) to inform the corporate philanthropy strategy development process.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Communications and Mission teams to develop content for promotional materials and collateral to optimally promote and support approved strategies.
  • Cultivate partners through effective year-round stewardship.
  • Quickly identify obstacles and propose mitigating solutions to advance corporate funding opportunities.
  • Lead a team to bring in targeted revenue for the Corporate Philanthropy department.
  • Partner with project management and support functions to ensure successful corporate program execution, including tracking, planning, implementation, and continuous performance feedback.
  • Utilization of Salesforce to manage corporate pipeline development and partnership opportunities through sales cycle.
  • Steward of the MDA brand, responsible for increasing brand awareness and MDA's valued reputation to build a strong network with corporate partners.
  • Undertake such other duties as may be assigned.

Salary Range:

This position's salary range is $120,000 - $130,000. Final offer amounts and levels are determined by multiple factors, including your experience, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Location:

Remote work with a minimum of 30% travel (local and overnight within United States). Candidates residing within Major Markets on the East Coast of the United States.

What we looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 7+ years of successful experience in fundraising, consultative selling, corporate engagement, and executive relationship development, preferably with a multi-million-dollar organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in cultivating, stewarding, and executing multi-year, multi-faceted corporate partnerships.
  • Experience using CRM tool, preferably Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated experience in cultivating, stewarding, and executing multi-year, multi-faceted corporate partnerships that raise $1MM+.
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge and awareness of external corporate fundraising environment, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) giving trends and best practices.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to represent MDA with excellence in building and cultivating relationships and influence strategies for high level corporate executives, community leaders, high net worth individuals, and diverse constituents.
  • Demonstrate resilience and a willingness to try new tactics based on the needs of MDA and prospective partners.
  • Ability to hire, train, motivate, and provide a qualified results-oriented team with regular coaching and skills development.
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills as well as strong business acumen to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with all organizational levels both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to commit to and achieve clear personal goals and thrive in an environment of individual and team accountability.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, negotiation and marketing skills.
  • Ability to travel as necessary.
