About The Role

SUMMARY

Develops directs and coordinates human resources activities for the Heritage Bank of Nevada division in conjunction with holding company Glacier Bancorp (GBCI). Duties focus on employment recruiting and on-boarding, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services and communications. Oversee Communications and Marketing Coordinator. Objectives to be completed by performing the following duties personally or through supervisors or management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist managers in recruiting activities to fill open positions, scheduling interviews and making written employment offers.
  • Provide counsel to executives, managers and employees on human resources issues and policies with the intent of enhancing employee relations and maximizing company productivity, as well as reducing exposure to legal liabilities
  • Administer or oversee the administration of human resource department functions, including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; terminations, disputes, and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Set compensation and assist managers with compensation and incentive/commission questions and provide guidelines and resources to ensure compliance.
  • Support employees with understanding benefits and provide resources as needed.
  • Ensure company compliance with policies and procedures of Glacier Bancorp (GBCI) and adherence to ADA, HIPAA, FMLA, FLSA and other federal, state, and local laws.
  • Ensure Federal and State branch posters and web postings follow current laws and GBCI compliance policies.
  • Must comply with all other banking and company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Plan and develop human resources strategies and objectives for the Bank.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Keep abreast of current events and legislation related to state of Nevada and federal employment issues.
  • Maintain and update division employee personnel files.
  • Handle confidential employee information and work with employees to handle sensitive or difficult employment issues.
  • Partner with employees and management to resolve employee issues quickly and fairly.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Ensure all on-course and other required training is completed by all employees each quarter.
  • Complete on-boarding of new employees; create and order all business cards, name plates/tags and/or other items needed for work; order all system access, phone numbers, hardware for new hires using Service Now.
  • Consult with GBCI HR Department for all sensitive and legal issues related to employment. As directed by GBCI, work with legal counsel and represent organization at personnel related hearings and investigations.

About You

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must have prior experience as a Human Resources Manager
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Prefer SHRM and HRCI certifications
  • Prefer prior financial industry experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Proficiency in computer applications, Word, Excel, Outlook and prefer Adobe Suite
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Detail orientated
  • Must have the ability to work in a professional and confidential manner

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.
