The Traffic Control Supervisor oversees scheduling and supervising traffic control operations for the City of Inglewood contract. LAZ Parking provides traffic control for events at SoFi Stadium, Kia Forum, Intuit Dome, and other City special events.

Qualified candidates must be detail oriented, organized, work well under pressure, and able to be flexible with their schedule, especially on weekends and evening hours. While not on traffic control duty, the candidate will be preparing for event logistics, patrol as a parking enforcement officer, or perform other duties as needed from management. The Traffic Control Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and the Director of Traffic Operations.


Principal Job Duties:

  • Responsible for organizing and scheduling traffic control officers (TCOs) for each event to ensure adequate coverage for all events.
  • Communicate with operations manager and Director with updates on scheduling and any foreseeable issues.
  • Be proactive in addressing employee issues and update the Operations Manager and Facility Manager on any employee matters.
  • Transports TCOs to and from assigned traffic control as required.
  • Reviews work activity reports and evaluates work performance of subordinate staff.
  • Lead the interview process for new TCO hires. Prepare evaluations and assist with hiring process.
  • Responsible for training employees on proper Traffic Control protocol and techniques.
  • Monitors field activities by making site visits to ensure proper traffic control protocol.
  • Evaluates TCOs on performance and coach/train as needed.
  • Meets with subordinate staff to discuss and resolve problems relating to field activities.
  • Issue verbal warnings to staff when needed.
  • Maintain and care for all company issued equipment, including company vehicles.
  • Serve as an example for employees by following all LAZ and office policies and procedures.
  • Identify areas of improvement and work with management and other supervisors to implement.


Education: High School graduate or equivalent.


Experience:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years of traffic control is REQUIRED.
  • Experience in high volume special event supervision, highly desired.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience required.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 suite (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • General knowledge of streets and directions is required.
  • MUST have Valid CA Driver's License and clean driving record (at least 2 yrs)
  • CA Commercial Driver's License a plus, but not required. Open to obtaining commercial driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a Police background check and Livescan.

Physical Demands:

  • Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull at least25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
