Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

What We're Looking For:

If you are experienced in troubleshooting, research, data mining, Microsoft Office tools, have light scripting/other computer languages, general telecommunications principles, and have at least 5 years of experience with the various telecommunicaitons services, products, and base station equipment, then you will be excited about the Call Intercept/Rescue Analyst opening with Iridium on our Call Intercept team. In this role, you will focus primarily on/be tasked primarily with completing and delivering lawfully requested call information/content/analysis to authorized law enforcement agencies and providing around the clock responses to bona fide, world-wide rescue coordination centers in matters of loss of life or limb. You will thrive/succeed in this role if you are independent, a self-starter, can think outside the box, can interpret and understand technical directives/equipment, understand the high-level Iridium network and all services it provides, can understand legal requirements, and follow internal Iridium policies and procedures.

This position requires an active/current Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

What You'll Do:

    Be responsible for accepting, logging, and executing incoming lawful intercept and subpoena compliance requests, preparing formatted search results for compliance requests, and providing Point of Contact (POC) duties for world-wide rescue coordination centers
  • Work independently to research, collect, collate, and format compliance requests for lawful intercept and subpoena compliance and world-wide rescue coordination centers
  • Recognize issues pertaining to individual Iridium telecom services and how they can affect effective lawful intercept platforms and craft/propose solutions to these issues
  • Develop tools and/or procedures for research, collect, collate, and format compliance requests for lawful intercept and subpoena compliance and world-wide rescue coordination centers
  • Create/edit/modify lawful intercept operations as required by lawful order or research data affecting the effective intercept of those telecommunications and the various call data repositories as they undergo changes, upgrades, and decommissioning
  • Identify possible conflicts between requested lawful intercept and compliance operations with the plans, policies and procedures internal to Iridium, changes in information stored in data repositories within the Iridium system, possible issues with Iridium network infrastructure that could affect the collection of intercepted communications, changes and/or additions to user equipment that could affect the effectiveness of lawful intercept operations, changes in technical specifications regarding the Iridium network, Gateway equipment, services, user equipment, constellation firmware upgrades, or changes in procedures performed during the normal course of business

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in telecommunications or related field OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the terrestrial telecommunications industry and/or satellite telecommunications industry
  • Skilled at troubleshooting electronic devices/equipment, working with different computer operating systems, and computer networking
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to confidently present products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues
  • Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions or come up with solutions
  • Be able to complete tasks independently and collaborate in team settings
  • Be comfortable managing upward, including being a proactive communicator and asking for help when needed. Have confidence and be able to establish valuable relationships with others.
  • Must be able to prioritize key tasks and have a strong sense of ownership over your work
  • Be active in seeking out ways to continuously improve yourself and gain new knowledge
  • Passionate about improving customer relations, internal working relations, providing quality responses

Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:

  • Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Prior experience in CALEA/Subpoena compliance
  • Experience in technical investigations
  • Experience with the various Iridium services, products, and Gateway equipment

We'll also need you to:

  • Be on call
  • Be able to travel up to 20% per year
  • Be a U.S. Citizen

Work Environment:

This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer. For meetings in-person, this position will need to be able stand, walk within the office and climb stairs on occasion.
