Job Description

Chapman and Cutler LLP is seeking an experienced mid-level Associate Attorney to join the Asset Securitization Practice Group at the Firm. The successful candidate will have at least two years of experience in transactional work, corporate law or finance law at a large or mid-size law firm, in-house law department or governmental agency.

Examples of specific types of desired experience include the following:

  • Representing companies and financial institutions in financing activities
  • Providing advice to clients on structured finance transactions
  • Advising clients on the acquisition or sale of portfolios of financial assets
  • Representing parties to secured and unsecured credit facilities
  • Drafting and negotiating offering and transaction documents and financing statements
  • Understanding of commercial and securities law issues as they relate to finance transactions
  • Representing parties in financing transactions with a broad range of asset classes
  • Advising on debt and equity issues in capital markets transactions

The ideal candidate will have strong academic credentials as well as superior interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills. Commitment to client service is critical, as is the ability to handle fast-paced transactions and juggle multiple projects and deadlines. Successful candidates will have strong interpersonal, analytical, oral communication and writing skills as well as superior negotiating skills; and an understanding of business, industry and market issues.

Candidates must be members in good standing or eligible to waive into the appropriate state Bar.
