Department Overview

TheEnterprise Content Services (ECS) departmentwithin the PG&E Information Technology division is dedicated to supporting all business sectors, excluding the nuclear power plant. The department excels in the design, development, delivery, and support of enterprise-class software solutions that ensure the secure and safe management of PG&E's electronic content and records. Additionally, the ECS department is responsible for the operational and maintenance oversight of several critical production content and records management systems. These systems empower business lines to fulfill electronic content and records management duties as dictated by both internal standards and external regulatory bodies. In partnership with theInformation and Records Governance (IRG)organization, ECS is committed to fostering and refining secure and compliant records management practices throughout the company.

Position Summary

TheECS Business Technology Managerfor the ECS department will spearhead a dynamic and high performing team comprising software engineers, business analysts, and project managers. This team is crucial in conceptualizing, crafting, deploying, and maintaining top-tier software solutions that ensure the safe and secure management of PG&E's structured and unstructured electronic content and records. Reporting to theIT Senior Manager for ECS and Customer Privacy, the ECS Business Technology Manager is a key member of the leadership team charged with the development and oversight of robust Information and Records management solutions across the company. The ECS program extends its services to all lines of business within the organization. Moreover, the ECS department collaborates closely with the Information and Records Governance (IRG) division to enforce records management standards, comply with CPUC regulations, and enhance the company's records and information management framework. The role of the ECS Business Technology Manager is pivotal in ensuring the Enterprise Content Services Program's success aligns with PG&E's strategic objectives and aspirations.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.


A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $140,000
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership to a team of Documentum and AWS architects and developers, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Lead the development and implementation of technology solutions that support regulatory compliance with electronic information and records management requirements at PG&E.
  • Develops effective key performance and key risk indicators (KPI/KRI) to track, report, and improve overall performance and maturity of the enterprise content services.
  • Collaborate with the cloud, infrastructure, and architecture teams to devise strategic 3 and 5-year technology roadmaps, focusing on upgrades and refreshes to deliver efficient technical solutions to business.
  • Responsible for the development of departmental goals in support of business objectives and implementing appropriate work plans in support of those goals, including employee development.
  • Oversee software vendor partnerships to ensure optimal value is extracted from vendor contracts.
  • Administer project, operations, and contract budgets, maintaining them within the approved variance thresholds.
  • Plan and manage an annual Tactical Implementation Plan (TIP) for electronic information and records management activities outlined under the program standard.
  • Manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations of all technology platforms supporting electronic information and records management.
  • Collaborate with functional areas across the company to design and evaluate work processes that mitigate risk and facilitate compliance on electronic information and records management.
  • Utilize knowledge, skills, and expertise to support compliance and regulatory objectives and identify and close process gaps.
  • Recruit, coach and develop BAs, Software engineers and project managers in the formation of a cohesive, interdependent, and agile team of employees and contractors.
  • Stay abreast of evolving regulatory changes in California and broader utility industry, adapting processes and procedures accordingly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate other technology platforms to Enterprise Content Services platform.
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on regulatory compliance and associated technology solutions for records and content management, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability.
  • Responsible for communicating program KRIs and bowties to directors, officers, and governance committees in a clear and concise manner.
  • Participate and contribute to industry forums and working group.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Experience in managing content and records management platforms like Documentum.
  • Experience in managing workloads in AWS infrastructure.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 8 years of experience working in compliance and/or risk management at a corporate and operational level.
  • 3 years leadership experience

Desired:

  • Content and records management
  • MBA or MS in sciences, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • LSS-Lean Six Sigma Certification
  • Strong program management, project management, internal consulting, change management, and process improvement skills.
  • Clearly convey information and ideas through verbal and written communication to stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
  • Highly flexible, self-directed, and able to adapt well to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Able to think strategically, systematically, and analytically, while working tactically to meet milestones.
  • Ability to partner with senior leaders across functional areas.
