Job Description

The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide reservoir engineering support to the company which includes, but is not limited to; project optimization, project economics, asset acquisitions and divestitures, engineering studies and reservoir diagnostics. A successful incumbent must be able to work in a team environment to ensure timely and efficient project execution. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate analysis, valuations, forecasts and recommendations for the acquisition and divestiture of assets.
  • Prepare Reservoir Engineering Studies of key well performance parameters with the objective of understanding and optimizing completion design, well spacing & stacking, and flowback.
  • Prepare well forecasts, calculate economics and present development recommendations for approval.
  • Proficiency in data science and using technology to further subsurface understanding and streamline workflows.
  • Adept at moving data across systems and improving processes through automation and system integration.
  • Appraisal analysis to include probabilistic workflows around probabilities of success and key risks.
  • Partner and work alongside of other disciplines including geologists, geophysicists, completions, and production engineers, landmen, administration personnel and field personnel.
  • Formulate independent decisions in planning, organizing, and completing technical assignments.
  • Plan, schedule, and review the work product of other engineers and technicians.
  • Other duties related to this positionwill be assigned.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Required: BS or MS Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university.
  • Preferred: 6+ years of petroleum industry experience.
  • Must have extensive reservoir engineering experience.
  • Proficient computer skills, especially in Aries and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and a high degree of emotional intelligence.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of personal responsibility and accountability for their work.
  • Proficiency in Spotfire, PowerBI or other visualizations is preferred.
  • Experience in performing analytical and/or numerical modeling is preferred.

COMPENSATION:

Salary is commensurate with experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment, where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, poor ventilation, fumes and gases is very limited. The noise level is moderate and includes sounds of a normal office environment. No environmental hazards are encountered in the performance of normal job duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboard at moderate skill level. Work may require occasional pushing, pulling, or carrying 20-pound objects such as files, documents, boxes, etc. Work involves sitting most of the time but may involve standing and walking for brief periods. Travel is not required.
