CRM is responsible for identifying and assessing compliance risk areas; communicating the importance of the compliance program to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and staff; preparing and distributing the written code of conduct, setting forth the ethical principles and policies; developing and implementing education programs; implementing a retaliation-free internal reporting process; and collaborating with C-Suite and SLT to effectively incorporate the compliance program and changes in the policies and procedures.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review, develop and implement corporate compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and industry best practices and update policies and procedures accordingly.

  • Develop educational programs for all employees, agents, contractors, or others working with the organization. Provide guidance and training to staff members on compliance and risk management principles and practices.
  • Ensure that the internal controls can prevent and detect significant instances or patterns of illegal, unethical, or improper conduct by employees, agents, contractors, or others working with the organization.
  • Ensure that compliance systems in place have effective mechanisms to determine that employees in management and other sensitive and/or responsible positions do not have a propensity to violate laws and regulations or engage in improper or unethical conduct in their designated areas of responsibility.
  • Provide input and/or direction to human resources policies and procedures and the performance appraisal and incentive programs to ensure that improper conduct is discouraged.
  • Review and update RCAC's procurement, expense, internet security, advocacy, accounting, board reporting, diversity and inclusion, cash and investment, management plans and other related policies.
  • Ensure that all RCAC corporate, subgrant and vendor contracts contain language that is corporate compliant and includes required insurance clauses, disclosures, and exclusions. Additionally, CRM at their discretion is expected to regularly report issues to the CFO and SLT.
  • Oversee, follow-up and, as applicable, resolve investigations, including insurance applications and claims and other issues generated by the compliance program, including development of corrective action plans, as needed.
