Job Description:

Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care of patients. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Evaluates and improves the quality, consistency, and efficiency of the assigned specialty and contributes to the educational and collaborative goals of Baptist Health Paducah.

JOB DUTIES -

  • Assessment and identification of patient needs, implementation of appropriate interventions, delegation of nursing care activities and provision of supervision.
  • Establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care, assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems and performs technical aspects of care competently (aseptic technique, safe equipment operation, patient positioning and patient and staff safety).
  • Demonstrate computer literacy and competence in use of existing technology.
  • Works with surgical technologists, orderlies, and other staff to perform post-case cleaning duties.
  • Precept new RN staff in the assigned specialty.
  • Establish clinical competencies for new hires and staff involved with assigned specialty.

QUALIFICATIONS -

  • Current licensure by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required.
  • One-year nursing experience is preferred, and two years' relevant patient care experience is required.
