Security Officer

Shift: 3rd, Part T

Where You'll Be:

The security department at Baptist Health LaGrange is responsible for providing a safe and secure healthcare environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Members of the security team utilize a variety of strategies, tactics, and tools to work effectively within the 90 bed acute care hospital featuring a recent multi-million dollar renovation. Baptist Health LaGrange is proud to serve residents of Oldham, Henry, Trimble, Carroll, and eastern Jefferson counties.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to deter criminal activity and ensure a visible security presence

  • Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, such as medical emergencies or fires and take appropriate action

  • Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify hazards, security vulnerabilities, and compliance issues as well as report findings to appropriate personnel and assist in implementing corrective measures

  • Mediate conflicts and de-escalate tense situations involving patients, visitors, or staff members, using effective communication and conflict resolution techniques. Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary

Why You're a Great Fit:

  • You have additional education or training in law enforcement, security management, or related fields (Strongly Preferred)

  • You have a High School diploma (Required)

  • You have a valid Driver's License with satisfactory driving record

  • You have, or will obtain, the following certifications within 6 months of hire and obtain thereafter: BLS, Taser 7, Avade Handcuff, Avade Healthcare Defensive Tactics, Aegis Crisis Prevent and De-escalation (within 30 days), IAHSS, and Hazardous Materials First Receiver (within 90 days)
