Overview
The Mastectomy and Compression Fitter performs specialty fittings and provides durable medical equipment (DME) items as medically necessary and directed by a physician order. The fitter holds a customer service-oriented position that involves working directly with patients in a professional clinical capacity. The role assesses patient status pre- or post-surgical intervention and conducts product selection, as well as fitting patients for bras, compression garments and prostheses. Will be responsible for assisting with determining the right product and size for the patient. Places custom orders from manufacturers, suppliers, with knowledge of the product comfort and fit. Works with patients, patient families and revenue cycle to process prior authorizations from insurance companies and prescription from providers as needed.
