Job Description

The Team Lead II - Registration performs a variety of data entry and general registration functions for the Outpatient Departments in the facility. It is the responsibility of the Registration Team Lead to accurately collect patient demographic and insurance data to ensure appropriate reimbursement and claim filing. The team lead will utilize technology to accurately quote and collect patient liabilities that have been identified by the insurance company and obtain any necessary authorizations to cover the Outpatient Services. The team lead will also be responsible for management functions related to the outpatient registrars. They will also be a resource for fellow team members and manage any issues that have been escalated by the registrars. Under the direction of the Patient Access Manager, is responsible to follow all registration and admitting policies and procedures. Acts as a resource in providing all customers with the highest level of service. Enhances the hospital experience for patients, families and visitors by providing appropriate hospitality and concierge services.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the initial greeter for all patients/visitors entering the facility.
  • Completes all registrations in a professional, accurate and customer-oriented timely manner.
  • Obtains information from patient health insurance or managed care identification card.
  • Responsible for distributing to patients or their representative any required handouts.
  • Maintains forms in all printers at all times, which may require lifting or carrying cases of forms. Must have knowledge of all software and hardware computerized equipment.
  • May be required to work at another location as needed and team members are responsible for their own transportation.


Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Minimum Work Experience

  • 2 years relevant experience (patient access, financial assistance, insurance billing, patient and/or insurance collections, reimbursement, health care customer service, payer contracting, medical office, or coding). Less job experience is required with completed advanced education (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters' degree). Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) Upon Hire Required
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) Upon Hire Required
