Cheshire, CT (ASG) - ManagementHow will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?The Systems Administrator position is responsible for installing, maintaining and upgrading the AT&S infrastructure, hardware and software both locally and nationwide. Accountable for ensuring maximum uptime of complex systems, detecting and competently resolving outages in an expedient manner. Additionally, the Systems Administrator will participate in and facilitate cross training in all IT disciplines.Work safely and collaborate in a positive and professional manner with team members and customers
Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
Assemble and deploy servers & workstations from scratch
Respond to general system outages & perform root-cause analysis of issues in a timely manner, including off hours as required
Lead systems installations on or off site
Configure and set up servers in an HA (High Availability) environment
Promotes system improvements by recommending new technologies and strategies to the team
Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics of computing, services, and networking
Create and maintain detailed SOP documentation for server creation and installations
VMWare - Advanced User
Windows - Desktop Support (Active Directory, Antivirus, Software Install & Support, etc.)
Windows - Server Support (MSSQL, File, etc.)
Veeam - Backup systems
Network Configuration Support - basic knowledge of switching protocols, VLAN's, Subnetting, Wireless etc.
Windows Server Support (MSSQL, File Server, IIS Server, WSUS)
Desktop Imaging (MDT or other platform)
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Linux - Administration and troubleshooting a plus (system logging, memory, network analysis, OpenSSL etc)
Experience with Google Office Suite (Mail, Docs, Drive, Meet etc.)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
5+ years administering an IT infrastructure of 50+ servers in an HA environment
Lead hardware deployments at remote facilities
Collaborate and support multi-disciplinary engineering teams and highly complex systems
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasionally (up to 20%)
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Moderate to Advanced Experience with Google Kite
Linux, esp RHEL Linux preferred
Comfortable learning new software as needed.
Computer Networking
Familiar with network and system monitoring tools
Comfortable analyzing system logging to aid troubleshooting
COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language
Superb organizational skills
Excellent presentation skills related to the teams' projects
Comfortable adapting to tight deadlines and/or changing priorities
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
