ChampionX has an immediate need for a Mobile/Fleet Mechanic located in Odessa, TX. This position is primarily responsible for providing maintenance of any type of vehicle used to deliver chemicals to customers, plants and/or warehouse locations. What You Will Do:
  • Adhere to company policies and follow Standard Operating Procedure per job task
  • Wear required personal protection equipment (PPE) at all times during job tasks
  • Service all types of delivery trucks or vehicles
  • Inspect all vehicles once a month
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on all delivery vehicles
  • Perform field repairs as needed
  • Maintain ChampionX policy inspection maintenance records
  • Maintain driver's hours of service by using Turnpike and/or paper logbook reporting
  • Keeps current on safety techniques and take advantage of all opportunities to improve driving and safety skills
  • Recognize and avoid safety hazards in the work environment
  • Assist in any emergency situation that may need mechanical knowledge
Position Details:
  • Route territory will include but not limited to: Odessa, TX and surrounding Permian locations.
  • Work week and shift: Monday - Friday (variation of schedule dependent on business needs)
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2 years of diesel mechanic experience
  • Minimum high school graduate or GED
  • Must have an acceptable motor vehicle record (3 years)
  • Immigration sponsorship not offered for this role.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical exam
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 years of diesel experience
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical, hydraulic, and chassis systems
  • Have certifications in brake, CVSA, and A/C systems
  • Knowledge of use of diagnostic software (ADOC, INSITE)
  • Experience working on hydraulic pumps and PTO
  • Awareness ofchemical safety and the measures to take in the event of skin contact or spill
  • Have own hand tools
  • Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), issued by the state in which the candidate resides with all the relevant endorsements (X - Hazmat & Tanker)
