Qualifications * Must be at least 21 years of age * Must have a current valid driver's license in the state of Georgia * Must have an acceptable criminal background record check * Must provide driving history from the Department of Motor Vehicles * Must immediately report any cited or ticketed driving infractions * Must keep a current certification in emergency first aid and CPR * Must have a clear tuberculosis screening upon hire to assure that the employee is free of diseases communicable within the scope of employment * Must have a physical examination prior to employment and as required by the Community after an injury or illness to assure that the employee is physically qualified to work * Must be able to bend/stoop, climb, reach above shoulder level, kneel, balance, push, pull, squat, crouch, lift, carry, and move up to one hundred (100) pounds * Must have training in emergency evacuation procedures, medical and social needs of the residents, resident's rights, abuse and neglect reporting, infection control, medication assistance, dementia, and courses relevant to the job duties * Must have van safety training (provided upon hire) * Must obtain at least twenty-four (24) hours of continuing education the first year and sixteen (16) hours of continuing education courses each year thereafter * Must attend mandatory staff meetings * Employee must not be under the influence of alcohol or other substances while engaged in any work-related activity on behalf of the Community * Employee must wear a name tag at all times while on the property or engaged in any work- related activity on behalf of the Community * Must have cell phone available at all times; must NEVER use cell phone while driving * Able to work various schedules, including weekends, as needed * Driver's License (Required) | Responsibilities * The Bus Driver works with the Activities Coordinator to provide transportation for the residents * The Bus Driver may also participate in activities * Provide transportation to medical offices, retail stores, churches, voting precincts, special events, and general errands * Assist with activities when available and as requested by the Activities Coordinator * Ensure that the policies and procedures are effective and enforced to support the health and safety of the residents * Monitor resident activity, functional status, psychosocial status, taking action as required to promote resident well-being * Must be able to assist residents on and off the bus * Document resident status change and communicate changes to Activities Coordinator * Keep the bus clean inside * Take the bus for routine and emergency maintenance * Maintain the vehicle inspection logs to include the last driver to inspect vehicle, date of inspection, and details of inspection * Maintain current resident profiles and emergency contact information * Maintain a first aid emergency kit on the bus * Review and utilize the Community's disaster preparedness plan for staff and residents to follow in case of fire, explosion, natural disaster, or other emergency, including interruption of electrical power supply, gas-heating supply and water supply * Attend required staff meetings and complete all necessary in-service training * Read all shift change acknowledgement notes * Review and follow the employee handbook guidelines, including dress code, conduct, scheduling, etc * Other duties as assigned by the Activities Coordinator Benefits * Pay: From $16.50 per hour |
