Job Summary:
As a Crew Leader, you will be responsible for mentoring 6-10 young adults, ages 15+, while completing various conservation & green infrastructure projects.
Projects include habitat restoration, trail building, invasive plant removal, and green infrastructure installation/maintenance. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership skills.
Main Duties:
- Model effective leadership per provided training, lead/engage crew members during the work day
-Train & supervise crew members in safe and proper tool use and body mechanics
-Organize & lead weekly professional and/or personal development activities
-Maintain, complete and submit all required program reporting and documentation
Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a minivan
- Ability to perform manual, physical labor for up to 8 hours per day, exposed to the elements. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more
-Must be available for overnight hybrid crew leading experience (July 7th-12th and/or July 21st-26th)
Preferred Qualifications:
-1 Season of Trail work and Invasive Species Removal or Green Infrastructure Maintenance
Compensation:
-Salary: $800/week
+ $200/week overnight hybrid crew bonus
+$25/week for fluency in ASL, Spanish and or Hmong
Typical Schedule:
This is a seasonal position June 10th-August 5th
-Monday-Wednesday on site 8am-4pm
-Thursdays on site 8am-12pm, staff meeting 1pm-2:30pm, office hours 2:30pm-4:30pm
-Fridays off
