CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD Summary: Provides day-to-day management of site networks and systems including closed networks and systems in support of the TCM-ITE and MCS products. The Senior Network/Configuration Administrator shall also focus on scheduling, troubleshooting, implementation and post implementation issues, and working with other services to facilitate their connection and use of this training enabler. The administrator shall routinely work with other network and computer/workstation and user personnel to coordinate events (primarily simulation) and ensure network readiness for all managed exercises/events. Support activities include management of Ethernet switches, routers, communications, cross domain and encryption devices and support for personal computer software and hardware installation troubleshooting and network monitoring. This position shall also implement and execute the Risk Management Framework process to ensure site accreditation in support of all simulation exercise requirements. The administrator shall be responsible for the installation and configuration of the associated equipment which makes up the sites networks and LANs. These responsibilities include troubleshooting, problem resolution, maintaining current versions of operating systems and reviewing vendor documentation to determine impact of new operating systems for Simulation, Stimulation and network equipment. The administrator shall ensure existing protocols and network functionality can operate properly under a new operating system. Schedules and coordinates system/network downtime with activities as a result of changes or upgrades. Conducts analysis of the impact on service during downtimes. Includes responsibility for the administration of SIMNET/network firewalls. The administrator shall evaluate network performance using software and hardware monitoring tools to identify possible problem areas. Develops new methods or approaches and recommends solutions for complex problems. Responsible for maintaining network security and information assurance for the networks infrastructure. Ensures compliance with information systems security monitoring notification procedures. Implements vendor security measures, Defense Information System Agency's (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and Army Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) and other directives. Responsible for analyzing and reviewing network security incidents; creating and maintaining access control lists (ACLs) on routers, switches and firewalls; and conducting threat and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with information assurance standards.
