Job Description

We are seeking an Operations Program Manager, to join our Instrument Lifecycle Management Team. This person will lead several cross-functional teams in the execution of operations projects including sustaining design activities, RMA, refurbishment, troubleshooting, etc. They will work closely with the Product Management team as well as the Sustaining engineering teams both locally and offshore.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, and have experience in design and process development activities for instruments or capital equipment. They will use their solid technical background and prioritization skills to guide team conversations about the scope of work and potential paths. Strong communication skills will help keep everyone on the same page and make sure everyone is heard. Of course, as a program manager by nature, your excellent organizational skills will assure that nothing falls through the cracks or is missed.

This position relies on effective engagement with many types of people. The best candidate will quickly gain a reputation as a strong partner who intelligently gathers input from multiple stakeholders and deals effectively with ambiguous or missing information. Over time, your knowledge of the inter-dependencies between projects enables you to see opportunities that others have missed.

This position manages work that is performed in Singapore, our Asia Headquarters. This position will be required to work a schedule that partially covers both time zones.

What you will be doing:

  • Serve as program manager on 10x product sustaining teams, planning and tracking scope, schedule, and performance
  • With the core team leads identify and mitigate program risk
  • Provide program management and leadership for life cycle management projects including continuous improvement projects, COGs reductions, process development, obsolescence, etc.
  • Identify and resolve issues with interconnected deadlines, priorities, and resourcing
  • With the other team members, provide ideas for continuous improvement and best practice in the process development, communication, coordination and leadership
  • Note that this is not an IT or software position

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering field. Preferable mechanical, electrical or manufacturing
  • Proven track record (5+ years) relevant instrument or capital equipment experience.
  • Demonstrated experience (4+ years) as a program manager (formal project management training is advantageous)
  • Significant contributions in all stages of product development (concept to post-launch) of successful customer-facing products
  • Solid understanding of project planning, scheduling, and tracking
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
  • Concrete cases of working with a diversity of stakeholders to pull together a shared plan
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment
  • Able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate multiple time zones
  • Strong communication skills: speaking, writing, listening, and interacting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Agile Project Manager or PMP
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification
  • Experience using Confluence and Jira
