As the Barge Maintenance Port Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in the upkeep of our ACBL barge fleet. Your primary focus will be on enhancing equipment reliability and minimizing dock rejections. You'll oversee inspections, coordinate repairs, and ensure that all work is carried out efficiently and within budget.

What you will be doing... Your IMPACT

  • Schedule, coordinate, and oversee barge repairs for the assigned area.
  • Ensure safe working conditions at maintenance and repair facilities and for personnel operating company equipment.
  • Perform and coordinate barge reliability inspections to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation and verify USCG Tank Barge Streamlined Inspection Program (TBSIP) Guidelines are met.
  • Monitor maintenance and repair work to ensure safety, barge reliability, regulatory compliance, and cost/benefit requirements are met.
  • Serve as emergency point of contact for both scheduled On-Call and On-Demand needs.

What we are looking for...



You will need to have:

  • Must qualify for a TWIC card.
  • Knowledge of barging, tank operations, and transfer operations and the river system is required.
  • Knowledge of USCG, OSHA, MSDS regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of previous barge/heavy equipment maintenance and operational competence in a marine transportation or shipyard environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using office productivity software such as Google G Suite or MS Office software products is preferred.
