Job Title: Project Manager

Position Summary: Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated disaster recovery projects to ensure that the project goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide management oversight for all phases of project including coordination of workers, equipment, etc. ensuring that specifications/requirements are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule.
  • Supervise first-line managers, review their reports, check on reported difficulties and correct any unsafe violations or other reported deficiencies.
  • Track and control schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time schedule set/given.
  • Establish and maintain quality relations with cities, counties, etc. representatives/points of contact.
  • Determine labor requirements and delegate responsibilities to ensure dispatch of workers to appropriate sites.
  • Attend applicable conferences, meetings.
  • Oversee preparation, review, and approval of contractual proposals relating to all emergency response services.
  • Supervise applicable staff as assigned by supervisor.
  • All other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Previous experience in the job offered or related experience in similar project management.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to effectively present information with clarity, precision, authority.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

May vary from site to site and in some cases be greater or lesser than indicated here.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
