Minimum Requirements
A four-year Bachelors degree in a related field from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years nuclear power plant experience of which two (2) years shall be in Quality Assurance (QA).
OR, a two-year Associates degree plus ten (10) years nuclear power plant experience of which two (2) years shall be in Quality Assurance.
OR, High School/GED plus twelve (12) years nuclear power plant experience of which two (2) years shall be in Quality Assurance.
Qualified to ANSI N45.2.23 and/or ASME NQA-1-2008 with NQA-1a-2009 Addenda as Lead Auditor.
(Meets or exceeds minimum education and experience requirements per Palo Verde Procedure 01DP-0EM08, Appendix A.)
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualification:
Knowledge of the codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical skills with ability to research regulations and requirements.
Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to convey complex/technical content in a coherent manager.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Ability to develop and write technical documentation and reports.
Nuclear requirement:
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.
This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.
These are conditions of employment at PVNGS.
Major Accountabilities
1) Leads multi-discipline/multi-utility audit teams in evaluating the organization's and/or supplier's QA Program.
Performs audits, surveys and surveillances.
Maintains qualifications in accordance with Palo Verde Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) and ASME NQA-1-2008 and NQA-1a-2009.
2) Develops and implements audit plans/checklists, source verifications and coordinates organizational and/or supplier support.
3) Independently reviews results of audits and source surveillances.
Provides accurate, complete and timely reports to regulatory agencies, nuclear utilities, nuclear suppliers and Palo Verde senior, executive and line management.
4) Interfaces with station and supplier management, up to and including officers of the company to assess, categorize, evaluate and report conditions adverse to quality.
5) Ensures timely follow-up including evaluations of root cause and effectiveness of corrective actions taken to prevent reoccurrence.
6) Provides technical, programmatic and organizational direction/guidance to supplier and/or organizational personnel.
7) Independently performs source verifications of manufacturing facilities.
