Job Description

Wilson House seeks a substance use counselor who wants to make a difference to those in early recovery. Wilson House is a 16-bed, 90-day substance use residential program for men. Our highly skilled team of counselors provide clients with the skills necessary for basic living, interpersonal communication, relapse prevention, safety planning, and healthy coping. We offer staff robust training, supervision, and support to help ensure positive client outcomes and a high degree of employee satisfaction.

Our counselors work closely with clients, their loved ones, and other collateral contacts - including the courts, probation and parole officers and other treatment providers - to coordinate continuity of care and ensure long-term success. Duties include: biopsychosocial assessment; individual, group and family treatment services; discharge planning; and completing necessary documentation in a timely manner specific to funding, licensing and program standards.

Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong organizational and time management skills, and compassion for those in early recovery. Candidate must have experience working in behavioral healthcare and must demonstrate empathy and appreciation for cultural, racial, and other forms of diversity.


Education and Licensing Requirements:

Bachelor's in social work, human services, or related field required.
