Position Overview

QinetiQ Inc./Technology Solutions is looking for a highly motivated Staff Embedded Software Engineer in the fast-paced, high-tech field of robotics. The Embedded SWE will participate in designing and fielding innovative products for the U.S. Military on a multi-disciplinary team of cutting-edge engineers. The team member will be involved in all aspects of product lifecycle from concept generation to final product fielding.

Responsibilities

As an Embedded Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

    Develop robotic software for unmanned ground vehicles.
  • Work with bare metal microcontrollers such as STM32, PIC16, and TI 32bit.
  • Implement software for motor controllers.
  • Work with network protocols such as UDP and CAN.
  • Work with Drive-By-Wire interfaces.
  • Build environment setup/OS configuration.
  • Support DevOps configuration.
  • Participate in software requirements reviews, preliminary and critical design reviews, and software acceptance reviews.
  • Troubleshoot issues during system integration.
  • Participate in field data collection and experimentation, analysis, and reporting

Required Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering plus 0-2 years' experience.
  • Experience developing embedded applications for microcontrollers.
  • Solid programming experience in C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with bus protocols such as CAN, SPI, RS232, or I2C.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Flexible, self-started, desire to solve any problem.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a Linux development environment.
  • Experience with 3 phase motor control.
  • Familiarity with Texas Instruments C2000 Microcontrollers
  • Experience working with an RTOS.
  • Experience debugging with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with Python.
  • UI development
