The Fetal-Neonatal Neuroimaging and Developmental Science Center (FNNDSC) at Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) is seeking a full-time Research Assistant on BCH and NIH funded studies which include the development and implementation of novel, multi-modal in vivo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) analysis techniques. The two studies that the successful applicant will assist in supporting are:

* In-utero structural and functional analysis (fetal-placental imaging);

* Neuroimaging analysis of adults with congenital heart disease.

This Research Assistant will:

  • Acquiring MRI data with pregnant subjects at Boston Children's Hospital.
  • Quality control (QC), maintain and organize MRI imaging data and QC outcomes.
  • Run and code multi-modal MRI computational processes, with quality assessments as part of the analyses pipelines.
  • Primarily work with associated staff and investigators on the projects, although there may be overlap and interaction with other studies within the FNNDSC.
  • Contribute to the teamwork by liaising between BCH and multi-site collaborators.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's in Science degree or higher (computer science, electrical or biomedical engineering is preferred), AND a minimum of one year's relevant and related work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail.
  • A strong interest in the technical aspects of MRI acquisition and computational image analysis. Programming and experience in the Linux environment are essential (shell scripting, Python, Matlab).
  • The ability to work after daytime hours as needed and be available for MRI sessions.
  • Great interpersonal skills and the ability to work in highly inter-disciplinary teams within the FNNDSC research group and with BCH collaborators, hospital staff, and pregnant subjects.
  • The ability to prioritize, be self-motivated, flexible, and resourceful.
  • Prior research experience involving any field of medical imaging is desired.
