What we do and how we do it:

The Installations and Moves department fulfill requests from customers who need office furniture, installation, or office re-designs. The Service Specialist position is responsible for knowing and performing the basic operation of installing and adjusting modular, free standing office furniture, and conference room furniture following work order details and blueprint notes and dimensions. This position is responsible for tasks necessary to operate the furniture warehouse such as filling orders leaving the warehouse, returning inventory coming back from projects, repairs and cleans inventory, and maintaining accurate inventory counts in the computerized tracking system. This position will also receive new product as it arrives at the docks and prepare/send orders to the different Hallmark plants as needed. This position also involves moving of packed office items, performing recovery services work and other building services functions as assigned.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

The Service Specialist position is located at Hallmark Headquarters. The job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Install office modular systems, free-standing furniture systems and reconfiguration of offices space to meet current user needs. Use measuring tapes and blueprints to set up furniture according to current HQ office standards. Service Specialists has to be able to go to an area and lay out exactly where and how the office area must be built and have working knowledge of custom fabrication of office systems and carpentry as needed. Review the job using communications skills to help the customer understand what is being proposed to complete the request of moving or setting up an office and be able to review component options available to users while maintaining office standards. Get the proper components, tools, and equipment to the job site to ensure the job is completed promptly, precisely, and in a courteous manner. Work with the customer concerning the logistics of the project (i.e. - agreement on a scheduled start date, customer's expectations regarding a completion date, follow-up with the customer at the end of the project to ensure all assigned requests were met). Fill orders for in-house projects and requests from Hallmark facilities other than Kansas City and re-warehouse all products coming back from in-house projects or from outside facilities.

This is a 1st shift position, and the work hours will be 6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Experience using a PC or computer
  • Experience reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and operating power equipment (i.e. - walkies and reach forks).
  • Ability to constantly move or walk, and push/pull and reach items above shoulder level
  • Ability to move, lift, or carry up to 20 pounds constantly, up to 50 pounds frequently and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to remain stationary and move from one area to the next on concrete most of the day

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • This is a 1st shift position, Monday - Friday from 6:00am - 2:30pm.
  • Relocation will not be provided.
