We have an excellent opportunity for an early career Environmental Scientist in our Barrigada, Guam office to support office-based tasks and field activities.

What you will do:

The early career Environmental Scientist will assist in a wide range of environmental compliance projects while having daily interactions with a multidisciplinary team of scientists.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Preparing project documents.
• Planning, coordinating, and leading field efforts.
• Collecting and evaluating data and reporting.
• Assisting in a wide range of natural resources and environmental compliance projects which could include:
  • Field studies to support flora and fauna surveys.
  • Habitat assessments and management.
  • Threatened and endangered species surveys.
  • Ecological monitoring.
  • Wetland and aquatic resources characterizations and assessments.
  • Solid waste, stormwater, wastewater and drinking water compliance.
  • Investigation and remediation support.

What you will need:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or Science related field.
• An understanding of environmental science or natural resources within the Pacific region and/or coastal settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in both the office and the field.
• Comfortability working several days a week in hot and humid conditions on challenging terrain with thick vegetation. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to learn quickly are vital.
• Attention to detail in following safety plans, work plans, collecting data, and preparing reports.
• Experience using ArcGIS version 10+ is preferred.
• Natural resources experience on Guam or the CNMI with experience in wildlife and plant identification and threatened and endangered species preferred.
• Ability to acquire access to military installations and have a valid driver's license.
