ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

Summer Maintenance Workers

Possum Kingdom Lake

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to repair and maintain Brazos River Authority facilities at Possum Kingdom Lake. Essential duties and responsibilities include: maintaining public use areas by mowing, weed eating, picking up trash and cleaning restrooms; maintaining the dam, assist in maintaining paved and gravel roads, maintaining facilities; assisting with the construction of facilities and structures; maintaining minor equipment by changing oil and grease and making repairs; and any other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to recognize the meaning of common two or three syllable words; ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations; ability to write simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and/or series of numbers, names, and addresses. The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. These detailed instructions normally allow little room for deviation. The immediate supervisor may, at times, provide close and constant review while work is under way and when the assignment is completed.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Candidates 18 years of age and older strongly preferred.

POSTING DATE: March 5, 2024 Open until filled.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position will require working some weekends and holidays as needed. Work schedule to be determined but will be from May to September timeframe.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED: Driver's license and good driving record.

SALARY: $15.00 per hour

BRAZOS RIVER AUTHORITY, EOE: The BRA was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 and exists to develop, manage, and protect the water resources of the Brazos River Basin. Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
