Position Summary:

In the Senior Manager, Engineering position, you'll lead a talented team of Engineers, drive technical excellence, and contribute to our AI strategy. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, shaping our technology roadmap, and delivering impactful solutions. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in the professional growth and development of your direct reports.

What You'll Do and Impact:

  • Understand our company's vision and client challenges, then align AI initiatives and capabilities with long-term business goals.

  • Lead cross-functional teams in identifying AI solutions that address business needs.

  • Uphold high ethical standards in AI decision-making, creating a framework that addresses bias, privacy, and transparency.

  • Lead a team of technology professionals and engineers to deliver project commitments across all areas on time, with quality, and within budget.

  • Balance resources effectively and nurture team capabilities to deliver tangible business value.

  • Develop and deploy technology solutions that can be effectively utilized across Direct Supply.

  • Lead program decisions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and driving positive transformations.

  • Evaluate the AI and automation landscape, assess current implementations, and recommend improvements.

  • Understand the business environment and ensure project goals align with desired business outcomes.

  • Serve as a technical liaison between development teams and business stakeholders, fostering clear communication across functions.

  • Hire and develop engineers, fostering a culture of mentorship. Lead a team focused on scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient product development.

  • Articulate and document solutions architecture, drawing from lessons learned during AI exploration.

  • Provide oversight throughout the development process, collaborating with Development Leads, Architects, and Systems Analysts to maintain high quality.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering

  • 10+ years of IT and Software Engineering work experience including software, database design and development

  • 5+ years of experience leading technical professionals and software development teams

  • 2+ years of practical AI application experience.

  • Experience leading delivery on large scale projects

  • Proven technical experience in .NET, Web, and Mobile development as well as object-oriented design and coding skills (C++ and/or Java, Python).

Additional Items of Interest:

  • Experience leading in a large technology platform and/or large organization.

  • Familiarity with ML, Generative AI, Chatbots, MLOPS, Data Strategy.

  • Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) platforms, algorithms, and relational databases.

  • Experience with managing support request ticket queues and transforming recurring requests into automated workflows.
