Itron is a leading provider of equipment and services to utilities around the world, including in support of Demand Response and Distributed Energy Management programs.

As a pivotal member of Itron's Distributed Energy Management business unit, you will lead Itron's consumer marketing team. In this role, you will manage the development and deployment of customer acquisition, channel development and strategic go to market approaches for diverse demand side management programs catering to our utility clients in the residential and small commercial segments.

Your team will be accountable for all aspects of our DR/DEM-focused consumer marketing programs, including program design, creative development, channel management, execution/implementation of programs, and monitoring and reporting on performance to our utility customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the efforts of the in-house creative marketing team, marketing leads, external contractors, and marketing agencies, as required, to achieve customer education and enrollment goals for the residential and SMB segments.
  • Develop segmentation and data analytical approaches that help identify Ideal Customer Profile for disparate portfolio of demand response and energy efficiency offers. Marketing campaigns will require the development of appropriate offer, targeting, positioning, and channel strategies leveraging key channels such as: Online, Print, social media (organic posts, paid social, PPC), Telemarketing, Face-to-face and other PR, Webinars and Partner-based recruitment and outreach channels.
  • Develop innovative marketing campaigns and channel strategies that contribute to meeting market penetration and utility-established enrollment targets.
  • Interface with utility clients to obtain approval for monthly, quarterly and annual marketing plans for each market.
  • Implementation of Itron's proposed marketing campaigns will follow approval from respective utility clients.
  • Achieve customer enrollment targets by executing marketing plans within established budgets for each market.

  • Monitor changes in the marketplace and industry, adjusting marketing plans accordingly. Actively integrate insights from the results of previous marketing campaigns, utility client feedback, and customer surveys.
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Sales teams to respond to utility-issued RFPs (Request for Proposals). This involves a comprehensive understanding of various channels, their effectiveness, expected response rates, and costs associated with implementing a diverse set of marketing tactics.
  • Develop and deliver impactful presentations for prospective customers that persuasively capture our capabilities and our results.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in consumer and SMB marketing in the Utility and or Energy Industry.
  • Extensive prior experience working with utilities in demand response, energy efficiency, and behavioral program development and deployment.
  • A proven track record of delivering tangible results in the execution of utility demand response programs targeted at consumers.

Education: Bachelor's degree from Accredited University in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or Finance.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of utility industry practices and market trends is critical
  • Strong listening, writing verbal communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively - Comfortable Leading Presentations
  • Ability to deliver new revenue in new markets is critical - this is a strategic sales leadership position
  • Ability to manage internal resources to meet demanding timelines
  • Ability to develop new accounts / customers.
