Job Description
Basic Function

Reporting to the Director, Sales - U.S. and Latin America, and in collaboration with Sales, Global Marketing, Global Supply Chain, Business Integration and Business Services, develops and executes strategies and tactics for all product segments and sales channels within the Southeast U.S. Region. Leads team of District Sales Managers, National Account Managers and Technical Sales Advisors focused on growing business through distributors and direct customers.

Job Duties
  • Responsible for maximizing Petro-Canada America's (PCA) financial returns through sales of lubricants, fluids, and greases to multiple market segments and through multiple sales channels in the Southeast U.S. market.
  • Responsible for growing distributor and direct Commercial & Industrial business through implementation of the Integrated U.S. Growth Strategy
  • Develop, implement and monitor sales, margin and expense plans to meet operating plan objectives; develop and implement tactical plans and pricing strategies to improve profitability
  • Maximize customer share of wallet, total gross margin and profitability through stewardship of BPR processes
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry performance factors/trends in order to identify and leverage areas of opportunity
  • Negotiate distributor agreements, sales contracts, service provider agreements/contracts
  • Key member of Distributor Advisory Board designed to find ways to grow the business
  • Responsible for quality and safety protocols/standards for PCA
  • Leadership; guiding and building a well-functioning and productive team in execution

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience
  • Extensive sales, marketing, leadership and people management experience
  • Prior lubricants industry sales experience preferred
Education
  • Post-Secondary Education
  • University Degree preferred
Required Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the Global (particularly U.S) lubricants business
  • Significant experience in industrial lubricants and related industries
  • Knowledge of Commercial and Industrial lubricants and markets
  • Good understanding of customers, competitors & markets, new technologies, global supply/demand dynamics
  • Advanced entrepreneurial, business, analytical, organizational and decision making skills
  • Advanced understanding and use of financial and business data in order to make decisions
  • Thorough understanding of the Company's vision and strategic direction and to translate the strategies for Petro-Canada America
  • Strong sense of autonomy
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
  • Lead a team that develops high value customer relationships and responds to customer needs via a mix of channels (distributors, direct sales and agents) into multiple target industry segments
Work Conditions
  • Home office based, preferably in the Southeastern United States
  • Extensive travel required through the United States
  • Must have valid driver's license

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping. Job conditions may require making visual inspections, lifting and/or carrying up to 25lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 25lbs, climbing up to 3ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates, with valid state driver's license and proof of insurance, working in confined spaces, and perceiving color differences.
