As a talented and motivated senior web developer, you will play an integral role in providing new development, maintenance, and support for a web application. This application serves as data presentation layer to improve flight operations and situational awareness for our fleet of geo-synchronous satellites. You will also help maintain an online library of technical materials, processes, operational documentation, and satellite health assessments and reports.

• Work with Satellite Control System, Satellite Engineering and Flight Dynamic and Mission Assurance teams to define and implement Web based applications and tools to improve situational awareness and operation workflow.
• Showcase your software development skills to build high-quality software products and associated test suites.
• Collaborate with Satellite Engineering and Satellite Control personnel in an agile manner to define, develop and implement tools that benefit the entire Satellite Operations and Engineering organization.
• Coordinate development of Applications and API's with Mission Assurance in support of Satellite Engineering's needs.
• Assist Satellite Engineering with data processing and batch tasks by developing scripts and automation of these tasks.

You should definitely have:

• Bachelor's degree required. Computer science, engineering, physics degree preferred
• Solid experience developing in PHP, Python including using API Falcon or any other frameworks.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience with established computer skills in the fields of full stack web programming and database applications such as JavaScript, Python, PHP, HTML, CSS, SVG, ReactJS, NodeJS, jQuery, D3, ORACLE/MySQL, MongoDB, XML, Restful API, WebSocket required.
• Developed Node.js and Express.js to run script in sever-side and to develop the server-based applications and divert users to routes.
• Hand-on experience in NoSQL Database (MongoDB), data modeling and schema design.
• Used GitHub to conduct modern distributed source code management.
• Followed REST API design rules and parsed multiple data types into JSON in the responses.
• Experience with scripting for data processing (Big Data) and automation tasks using languages such as Python and MATLAB required.
• Demonstrated experience with applying systems engineering tools and techniques throughout the life cycle of a project.
• Must have comprehensive problem-solving skills and general engineering knowledge pertaining to quality, reporting and processes.
• Strong organizational skills with a willingness to work with others to foster a team spirit
• This role is subject to ITAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).

It would be nice if you had:

• Experience with Content Management Systems, like WordPress desirable
• Experience with user interface (UI) and/or user experience (UX) design
• Hand on experience using React UI libraries such as Material UI, Ant Design and Bootstrap, developing web more efficiently with high-quality and responsive components.
• Experience in Agile Software Development and DevOps Environment
• Knowledge of satellite design, machine to machine communication, network communications, IOT (Internet of Things) or other complex systems is a plus
