Responsibilities

  • The Sepsis-Quality Coordinator RN will coordinate the BSA Sepsis Program, working collaboratively with the Nursing and Medical Directors of Emergency Department to provide excellent, evidence-based Sepsis care.
  • Responsible for establishing and monitoring clinical performance criteria, performing concurrent review of active sepsis cases, and assuring compliance with Sepsis regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for staff education as well as community outreach.
  • The Sepsis-Quality Coordinator will divide his/her time between Sepsis oversight and quality coordination.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Current TX State professional Registered Nurse license required
  • Current Texas RN Licensure
  • Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Microsoft Office Suite skills: (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) required
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of ER/acute care medical/surgical unit experience preferred
  • 1-2 years' experience in quality improvement and/or utilization review and/or regulatory experience in an
  • acute care setting preferred
  • Sepsis experience as coordinator or position requiring care for the Sepsis population preferred
  • Experience with Epic and Midas preferred
  • Knowledge of local and national quality management and regulatory standards, including reporting
  • preferred
  • Medical record review experience preferred
  • Project Coordination / Project Management experience preferred
