About the unit
9 Center is a 24 bed Med/Surg unit at Butterworth Hospital that cares for the general medical and surgical patients. Employees are often drawn to 9-Center for the variety of patients and the team environment. Our employees become competent in caring for a large array of both surgical and medical patients. Specifically, our team is known as being experts in nasogastric tubes, urinary catheters and urologic care, managing enteral and parenteral feeding, and managing the care of wounds, ostomies, tubes and drains.
This is a Weekends Only role. Its part time and consists of two 12-hour shifts on the weekend. RNs will receive an additional $10 per hour plus their base pay. The $10 per hour will only be applied to the weekend shifts the RN works. This $10 per hour will be combined with shift differentials as well as other special codes. RNs will be required to work 48 out of 52 weekends per calendar year. Weekends are defined as Friday and Saturday night for night shift. RNs can request up to 48 hours of PTO on their weekend shifts as well as 48 hours of exchanging a weekend shift for a weekday shift, for a total of 96 hours 'off' of the weekend requirement.This would be given in accordance with unit guidelines with allotted PTO as well as peak times, etc. RNs may request 1 holiday off per calendar year that falls on the weekend. The RN would only work the holiday if it fell on the weekend, they will not be moved off a weekend to work on a holiday.

Scope of work
Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Qualifications
- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
