The Medicaid Managed Care Liaison is responsible for ensuring coordination of care with internal and external stakeholders while assuring and monitoring access to health care for youth and families. Experience in the mental health, child welfare and/or public/private health insurance heavily preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the MMCP's Foster Care Liaison /Coordinator
  • Inform and coordinate with MMCP when a child's primary care provider needs to be changed
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the MMCP to assist with: enrollment/disenrollment, and transitions; notifications; prior authorizations; concurrent reviews; replacement insurance cards; consent and/or confidentiality issues
  • Support with foster care placement changes including access to health care
  • Assist with facilitating a single case agreement when a child is placed outside of the MMCP's service area or provide network
  • Communicate with clinical and billing staff timely as it relates to consent, claims issues and other activities related to enrollment and other issues
  • Refer children for needed services and assist in provider selection
  • Coordinate with health care providers, including school and community-based services

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED, Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the field of mental health, child welfare and/or public and private health insurance - Preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion, demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
  • Must have a current, valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work with economically and culturally diverse population.
  • Skills:
  • Relationship management skills
  • Ability to engage youth and families, community partners, and stakeholders.

Salary Range:

  • 1 year of experience = $19.47/hr or $40,500k/yr
  • 3 year of experience = $20.19/hr or $42,500k/yr
  • 5 year of experience = $20.91/hr or$43,500k/yr
