Job Overview

The Clinical Dietitian Associate develops the skills to provide comprehensive, safe, and ethical medical nutrition therapy to patients, families, and other clients in inpatient or outpatient settings.

We are looking for RDs who are strong team players, who are eager to learn, enjoy working in a variety of clinical areas, and who thrive in a fast paced environment. Our PRNs play an integral role in supporting our teams across sites and the Clinical Nutrition Department as a whole. Our PRNs are also involved in team meetings, team projects and have growth opportunities similar to our full time staff.

Additional Information

Department: Clinical Nutrition
Hours per week: PRN - as needed
Shift: Varying shifts: can be 8 or 10 hour shifts. Coverage varies based on clinical needs; on average will cover shifts 3-5 days/week. Minimum of 8 shifts/month. Occasional weekends/holidays.

Qualifications
  • EDUCATION - Master's Degree required.
  • EQUIVALENCY - Bachelor Degree with Registered Dietitians (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) adhering to the Commission of Dietetic Registration guidelines required.
  • LICENSURES - Registered Dietitians (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) required.

POPULATION SPECIFIC CARE
Neonate - <30 days
Infancy - >30 days to 1yr
Toddlers - >1yr to 3yrs
Pre-Schoolers - >3yrs to 5yrs
School age - >5yrs to 13yrs
Adolescent - >13yrs to 18yrs
Adult - >18yrs to 65yrs
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Assesses, plans, and delivers accurate medical nutrition therapy using established standards and evidence.
  2. Incorporates principles of culture-competence and family-centered care.
  3. Precepts interns, students, and peers in their clinical practice. Provides feedback to enhance understanding and compliance.
  4. Pursues professional growth and skill development. Accountable in learning from trainers/mentors for ongoing self-development.
  5. Actively contributes to rounds, care conferences, and care coordination. Collaborates and promotes teamwork to achieve positive patient and client outcomes across the organization and/or within the department.
  6. Proactively connects with Clinical Nutrition team members and other disciplines in the organization to identify Clinical Nutrition-related issues, potential solutions, and opportunities for quality and process improvement.
  7. Ensures compliance with established regulatory standards and healthcare regulatory requirements by identifying and following policies and procedures for the nutritional care provided.
  8. Accurately documents patient care and tracks time/activities for use with benchmarking, billing, and/or productivity in accordance with department standards.

Salary Information

Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $54,790.77 to $82,186.16
Hourly Salary Range: $26.34 to $39.51

As part of our Total Rewards package, Children's Colorado offers an annual employee bonus program that rewards eligible team members based on organizational performance. If organizational goals are met for the year, the bonus is paid out the following April.

Children's Colorado delivers annual base pay increases to eligible team members based on their performance over the previous year.
