Job Description

Seeking outgoing, energetic, and team-oriented professional to provide vocational and educational supports to Healthy Transitions participants living in Woonsocket, Lincoln, Cumberland, Burrillville, and North Smithfield. The Supported Employment/ Education Specialist (SEES) plays a key role in the success of the team's Coordinated Specialty Care services for young people (ages 16-25) with significant mental health challenges. As the SEES, you will assist participants with overcoming barriers to obtaining and maintaining employment. You will also assist participants with meeting their educational goals, such as returning to high school, getting a GED, or applying to colleges and graduate schools. You will be co-located with the rest of the Healthy Transitions team, which includes a clinician, case manager, nurse, a psychiatrist, and a team leader/ clinical supervisor. You will also have access to direct support and supervision from other Vocational professionals within the agency. You will have access to training in one or more Vocational services models, including Individual Placement and Support and Supporting Meaningful Employment/ ACRE Certification. This position is not primarily office-based, as one key role of the SEES is to connect with local businesses and employers to develop employment opportunities for our participants. With participants' consent, you will also continue to support these young people in the community as they adjust to their job, which increases their chance of becoming valuable, long-term employees. The successful candidate will be a dynamic self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, have previous experience and/ or a genuine motivation to work with young adults, and be familiar with the needs and treatment of persons with mental illness. This is a full-time position with primarily daytime hours, though applicants must be willing to work outside traditional office hours occasionally/ as needed.
