Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Promote and implement high standards of family-centered practice and service provision within the Healthy Families America Program. Communicate effectively in order to achieve programs goals through leadership and motivation. Support professional development in the agency by providing effective guidance and supervision to assigned subordinates.

REPORTS TO:

The Clinical Supervisor works under regular direction and supervision of the Director of Family Support Services in accordance with the agency's mission, philosophy and program goals.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Master's or higher degree consistent with RI DOH and HFA Practice Standards requirement for supervisors or
  • Completion of a program of advanced study as required for certification, licensure, or registration in the relevant discipline, or
  • Current certificate, license, or registration for a discipline listed under in the RI DOH guidelines and HFA Practice Standards.
  • Knowledge of relevant areas of practice including but not limited to infant-toddler development, parent-child attachment, family-center and strengths-based services, maternal-infant mental health and the dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
  • Experience in providing services in the community and home-based settings and with culturally diverse families.
  • Minimum three years direct-service experience with young children and their families and minimum of two years experience providing supervision of direct care staff.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must have ability to communicate with colleagues, consumers and other professional both in person and via the telephone
  • Must have the ability to provide services in the homes of consumers and in the community and provide own reliable transportation
  • Must complete HFA core training for supervisors by an HFA/PCA approved trainer
  • Must participate in a minimum of 8 hours per year of topical trainings in any of following areas - Management Supervisory Skill Building, Quality Improvement, Ethical and Risk Management, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Community Team Building.
