Our History

From Genomics to Multi-omics, Clinical Data & Beyond

DNAnexus was founded in 2009 during a time when genome sequencing data volume was exploding and costs were rapidly declining. By 2013, the company had established itself as the leading cloud computing and bioinformatics platform equipped to handle extreme scale and complex data processing for genomics, multi-omics, and beyond.

The company’s best-in-class science team has since worked directly with a wide variety of pharmaceutical companies, biotech organizations, healthcare providers, and academic institutions to tackle some of the most challenging and exciting opportunities in human health, making it easier — and in most cases more feasible — to work with genomic data to achieve their research goals and commercial success.

As our customer base grew in the following years, the DNAnexus global network for data integration, collaboration, and analysis has flourished and expanded to included multi-omic data capabilities. DNAnexus is well poised to address the future needs of the industry with innovative and intuitive products that build upon industry trends and enable impactful solutions.

Today, DNAnexus supports more than 100 enterprise customers, operating in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, South America, and Africa, with a best-in-class science team dedicated to our customers' research goals and successes, and a platform equipped to handle extreme scale and high-velocity data processing for genomics, multi-omics, and beyond.

Why DNAnexus?

Solve Infrastructure Challenges to Scale Future Growth

Legacy informatics tools were not designed to manage today's higher volumes of sequencing data. With home-grown, do-it-yourself systems, research centers and clinical diagnostic testing companies are finding it difficult and time-consuming to create, refine, validate, and execute pipelines at scale.
