Background
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) National Geodetic Survey (NGS) provides the framework for all positioning activities in the Nation. The foundational elements of latitude, longitude, elevation, and shoreline information impact a wide range of important activities. 

Position Description
Will provide onsite office administrative support which includes: reception and phone coverage; managing front deck operations including greeting and checking in guests; preparation of UPS forms; bulk mailings; assist with HR paperwork; formatting and processing of Control Correspondence; and, general guidance and support for administrative operations. Will support time and attendance, which includes: collection and maintenance of all time and attendance records; assembly of all T&A reports; support for cost documentation packages; and, development of policies and procedures. Will manage and coordinate the executive calendars and meeting schedules. Will maintain office SharePoint files and assist with electronic filing systems. Will support the Agency Records Officer, Records Liaisons, and RC Records Custodians in their duties for records management, and record disposition and will support the development and processing of clearance packages for documents requiring signature and release by supervisors. Will assist with the disposal of old warehouse materials and equipment.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years of administrative support experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
  • Motivated and flexible attitude with a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technical skills. 

Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident and be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility.

Desired

  • Previous Federal or Military service highly desirable 
  • Ability to identify, propose and initiate opportunities to improve office efficiency and staff support.
  • Prior experience working in a federal government office and familiarity with government office practices and/or software (travel and time & attendance).   

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
