Wärtsilä Defense Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual with skilled experience preferably in the Marine Industry. Currently, Wärtsilä Defense, Inc. has an opening for a Program Manager, in the San Diego, CA area.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead Project Team and manage all day-to-day aspects of Wärtsilä New Construction project-specific engineering, equipment deliveries, and installation and commissioning.
Serve as primary project point of contact to the customer from contract award through the end of warranty
Work with Engineering to provide technical support for the projects to customers and supporting project team
Ensure cost control at or below budget and quality objectives are met relative to project management activities
Support sales to win New Construction projects
Ensure delivered products meet customer requirements (including military standards/specifications) as prescribed per order
Report directly to WDI Director of New Construction Business
Oversee high-level complex projects to ensure success with the customer
Special Skills:
The successful applicant must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
Ability to qualify for and maintain a DoD security clearance if needed
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to such exemptions as required by law
Must be willing to travel as needed
Must be fluent in English
Education and Experience:
BS – Mechanical/Marine Engineering or
Trade School or Military plus a minimum of 5 years in a related industry role
10 years total experience; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
PMP Certification preferred
