Wärtsilä Defense Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual with skilled experience preferably in the Marine Industry. Currently, Wärtsilä Defense, Inc. has an opening for a Program Manager, in the San Diego, CA area.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead Project Team and manage all day-to-day aspects of Wärtsilä New Construction project-specific engineering, equipment deliveries, and installation and commissioning.
- Serve as primary project point of contact to the customer from contract award through the end of warranty
- Work with Engineering to provide technical support for the projects to customers and supporting project team
- Ensure cost control at or below budget and quality objectives are met relative to project management activities
- Support sales to win New Construction projects
- Ensure delivered products meet customer requirements (including military standards/specifications) as prescribed per order
- Report directly to WDI Director of New Construction Business
- Oversee high-level complex projects to ensure success with the customer
- The successful applicant must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
- Ability to qualify for and maintain a DoD security clearance if needed
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, subject to such exemptions as required by law
- Must be willing to travel as needed
- Must be fluent in English
- BS – Mechanical/Marine Engineering or
Trade School or Military plus a minimum of 5 years in a related industry role - 10 years total experience; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- PMP Certification preferred
