Job Description

Are you interested in using your strong writing and synthesis skills to support a dynamic Department of Defense technology research and development division?  Fibertek, Inc. is looking for a self-motivated and detail-oriented Action Officer to provide our U.S. Government customer with on-site support for routine reporting to senior leadership, quick coordination and drafting of responses to programmatic and budgetary taskers from higher headquarters, and collaboration and communication within the division, with senior leadership and with U. S. Government and industry partners.  Your experience with DoD/military will strengthen your opportunity in this Action Officer role to shape strategies and strengthen technology development programs.

Job Duties

To shape information for and submit recommendations to senior decision makers.  You must be proficient technical writer and editor skilled at combining varied inputs into cohesive documents and presentations.  Responsibilities include:

  • Corresponding and coordinating with stakeholders across the division and related programs to relay and capture technical and budgetary information

  • Performing numerous writing and editing tasks, including memorandums, PowerPoint briefs, cost studies, policy documents, technical reports on programs investigated, and written recommendations

  • Submitting a weekly report of activities and accomplishments to the division senior leadership

  • Participating in meetings and liaising with division staff

  • Interacting with division management and staff to present reports and provide advice

Required Skills and Experience

To succeed in this Action Officer role, you'll need the below expertise and experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience providing operational, administrative, technical or management support to DoD programs and projects
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional management and organizational skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
  • Extensive software skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint) and Internet research abilities
  • A Master’s Degree or greater is preferred but motivated individuals possessing a suitable Bachelor’s Degree will be considered.
  • Prior military experience preferred
